Tell me what to do!

I'd like to go away with my DP and 10 year old DS for the long weekend coming up. We're not totally skint so can spend a bit of money, and don't mind where we go particularly, would just like to get away and do something different. Limitations are - no flying, and starting from London.

Mumsnet jury, we are in your hands!

So far have thought of:

*eurostar to Paris and stay a couple of nights (very tempting but a lot more expensive than had we booked in advance, and forecast is rain rain)

*camping at Harrisons Rocks (rain, rain, rain)

*hiring a canal boat in Windsor (maybe, never done anything like it though, might take more planning than we have time for)

*going to Snowdonia, go up a mountain on a train (maybe, maybe)

*staying in a smelly relative's house in Bristol.

Please help me come up with something better

WE stay at Wringworthy holiday cottages in Cornwall near Looe and they may have a space for the bank holiday weekend. they do have a lovely swimming pool and animals. also enjoy going to Bath, central London (stay in the cheapest travelodge and do lots of free things) also North Wales and go tree surfing or have a look at some of the lastminute sites like lastminute-cottages for some ideas. what about a PGL short break too.

Trip to Edinburgh? Lovely city lots to do undercover if it rains. York? Again lovely you could go to Scarborough and Whitby or up onto the moors?

Centerparcs? Jersey? Train to Edinburgh and see the pandas at the zoo? Theme park hotel?
