HI off to london just with DH for his 40th (no children) apart from shopping is there anywhere worth going anything worth seeing. We are going to theatre at night. Also recommendations for places to eat not ridiculously priced but still not overrun

If you love Mexican food I recommend Wahaca near Coventry Garden, but be warned that you can't book so you can wait over an hour for a table (either in their tiny bar or go for a wander round Coventry Garden).

As for activities it depends how well you know London and what you like to do - maybe Tate Modern/National gallery, bus tour, riverboat (Thames clipper is much cheaper than the tourist boats but has no commentary) , wander round Greenwich, tour of Olympic Park, London Eye and walk down Southbank to Borough Market ...

V&A, The Wallace Collection a hidden gem of a museum in a fabulous building just off oxford street, suits of armour and art work aplenty

Actually would love to do the science museum without kids...
