Disneyland LA- how much time do we need?

Having just about decided that we were going to have one last blow out "family" holiday before dss goes to university and dd goes to school, and having plumped for 2 weeks in Orlando....

My brother has just announced that he is bringing his wedding forward to August, and changing location from St Albans to Montana .

As we were going to be in the States anyway (db didn't know!) of course we will be going, but I am considering going to Disneyland in LA, rather than Florida, and maybe spending some time in the Rockies...

So... how much time to we need for Disney in LA? I get the impression it's a lot smaller than Disneyworld (only has 4 Hotels rather than about 24!)

Hi,

Disneyland is in Anaheim and consists of two parks; these are called Disneyland (which is the original one)and California Adventure. The area between the two parks is Downtown Disney which has a variety of shops and restaurants.

I would say three, perhaps four days would be more than ample time to see everything (if you go in August).

Both Disneyland and CA have attractions unique to each park. For instance in CA you have the Sun Wheel (the moving cars on the wheel are not for the faint of heart!) and the California Screaming rollercoaster. There is also a winery in CA.

BTW Knotts Berry Farm in Buena Park is near there and is also well worth a visit. They also have a water park. Lots to do for all ages.

www.tripadvisor.com has info on hotels in the Anaheim area.
