A group of girlfriends and I are trying to arrange a holiday abroad to celebrate turning 40. Rio Carnival has been suggested but other than a lot of samba and parades I know very little about it. Has anyone been? Are there specific things you must/mustn't do? Do you have to book to see the parades or can you just stand on the side of a street? Are there specific parties worth booking to go to? Any advice appreciated
