First Holiday abroad with family - any suggestions?

Am planning on taking my boys abroad next year. They will be 6 & 8 by the time we go.. Its my 40th so am looking for somewhere nice around May time? Any recomendations?

Dubai- Atlantis the Palm would be a real treat for a special birthday and has loads for your boys to do.

How long would you want to fly? what 's your budget and interests? water, jungle or desert?
