Hullo,
So we are due to go away late June and I have not booked anything. One week rental budget up to £1,000. Can push if need be.

We like to fly from London City. Looks like we can do Toulon or Nice in France or Barcelona in Spain. Or Geneva but tricky to find reasonably cheap places there or Annecy.

Want a lazy, no car, and shops and beach nearby holiday. But most of the accommodation in France seems £££ and p'raps not super child friendly. Barcelona we've transited to twice. Staying in Pyrenees once (Can Paloume, nice but too isolated) and once on fab hazelnut farm (can burgues- but no beach).

Any suggestions? Villefranche sur Mer and La Seyne sur Mer were both recommended on here last year but wonder if that is more for hotels?

Thanks,

Antibes/Juan Les Pins would be my recommendation - easy to get up and down the coast by train. Villefranche is gorgeous but very hilly and the beach is tiny. The beach at JLP is lovely - and they have playgrounds/roundabouts on the seafront.

Ooh, fantastic, will have a look tonight. Thank you!! Have recently been in market for/bought car, sofa and houses (viewing lots of houses, not buyinh multiples, obvs). Brain has lost powers of discrimination so those suggestions v v gratefully received!

You can book a transfer from Nice airport for a reasonable sum as I recall - it takes about 15 mins. The provencal market in Antibes is lovely. We stayed a few years back in an apartment just at the start of the Cap. You could walk to central Antibes/JLP in about 15 mins. They have some lovely on the beach restaurants at Juan Les Pins - you literally stroll from your sunbed with no shoes on.....I have very fond memories of Helios Plage and nice attractive waiters bringing rose wine to my sunbed......whilst dh paddled with dd.

More Toulon way, Le Lavandou and Cavaliere are lovely. Not sure how easy it is to get about without a car though as we always drive. Also Port Grimaud/St Tropez.

Wow, loving the sound of on beach restos. Only heard of JlP in context of naturist beaches but it is looking lovely.
Thank you!
