Anyone been to camping Ca'Savio near Venice?

Thinking of booking it for a holiday this year. Went to Union Lido last year and loved it but can't get booked in for the week we want this year. Have ds aged 4 and dd aged 5 so would be grateful for views on whether Ca'Savio is good for this age group.

I went there 15 years ago when DS1 was 8. We stayed in a ready tent, the pitches were quite close together. The beach is lovely, boiling in the 6 weeks school holidays. I think the pool closed for a couple of hours in the afternoon if I remember correctly. Overall not a bad campsite but best thing about it was proximity to Venice for a day out and nice sparkling wine in the Pizzeria!

Just looked at their website - looks really lovely. We would enjoy a holiday there!

i was there about 15 years ago and loved it, the pool at the back of the campsite was more quieter than the main pool and in quite proximity to the beach
was easy to walk into the town and from what i remember there was a fantastic bakery, cafe which done lovely ice cream and a pizza place

We stayed near there some years ago, we left early.

  • regular mozzie spraying (big van with blower driving around)
  • the two hour afternoon shutdown was strictly enforced, the only place which stayed open was the pool. Playgrounds were shut.

Tightly packed pitches, nothing to see nearby. We lived in NL and couldnt quite see the point in Venice!
