First choice holiday villages

i have hijacked and killed a previous thread so thought I would start my own

I am going to a holiday village in portugal on the 29th and it is my first ever AI. I just wanted to get a feeling of they are like. My questions are:

Is the food going to be really bad?

We have booked a family room with bunk beds, I can't work out how these are set out from the info in the brochure. Are the bunks in a separate rooms and will me and oh have a bed or some sort of sore bed in the lounge?

Hats the kids entertainment like and will over excited reps with microphones round the pool drive me insane?

My Dds are 2 and 4 so any further info is appreciated

Have you looked at Tripadvisor and other review sites to see what people have said? Always a good idea.

I have looked at trip advisor and the reviews are quite good. I just thought that it would be good to have a mumsnet perspective

We have been on several AI hols over the years and find them excellent for a young family. I can't comment on your holiday specifically, but it's bliss to have no money issues over drinks/ice-cream during the day! We've always found the food good - plenty of choice even for fussy eaters - and a good mix of international cuisines. Ok, it's been buffet-style but, with young children, I find that this makes for a more relaxed mealtime. Enjoy your precious time and create some wonderful memories.
