I would like to book tickets for this, will upper circle seats be ok for 6 and 8 year old? will they see enough? I cant really afford to pay out for the more expensive tickets but dont want to get there and they be disappointed.Has anyone been who can advise please?

We were in the upper circle (quite close to the front though ? five or six rows back I think), and it was fine, a great view. The set and lighting are big and bright and the cast play very much to the back of the auditorium; I wouldn't worry about being able to see enough. I'd suggest though, if possible, getting seats quite central to the stage rather than at one edge. I think that makes more of a difference to your view than how far back you are.

It's a really terrific show ? enjoy!

I really really want to see this, any tips for cheaper tickets? It's£280 for four of us, I can't spend that. Does anyone know the best place/site to book with, as we've always used ticket master or see tickets before. Is there a cheaper day to go? :)

Oooh we have bought tickets for this for next weekend as a surprise for DD1's 13th birthday. It has always been her fav book and we have treated her to seats in the stalls, 2 rows back, can't wait to see her face! It has had brilliant reviews and from previous experience Frazzled most seats are good! Agree with LadyClarice about central rather than end seats though.

Smugfearnley we paid £250 for 4 seats middle of row in the stalls 2 rows back. We bought direct from the theatre over the internet and asked for the best seats they had. Hope that helps.

I was hoping for £30 in the stalls, not likely then :(

Sad Stalls seats were expensive.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 16/04/2012 09:41

Stalls are generally the most expensive. Personally I think seats in the circle/gallery, as long as they're not miles back/too far out to one side, are often better ? many sets etc are designed to look just as good if not better from a higher angle.

Matilda is an expensive show, but IMO it's worth saving up/biting the bullet. It fair cleaned up at the Oliviers last night ? fully deserved!

Thinking of booking ticket to see The Tiger that came to Tea in the West End. DS, 5 and 3 love the book. Has anyone seen the stage play before and is it any good?
