What is there to do in Portsmouth?

I'm going to Portsmouth with DH on business for a couple of days, but DS and I will have free time during the day.

Any ideas for things to do with a 22m old? I'm sure there are some historic ships, but are they interesting at his age?

Thanks

The sealife centre is fun. Throwing stones into the sea works well too!
I think the Mary Rose & whatever the other one is called, might be wasted on a 22 month old.
Gun Wharf shopping centre is quite good for a wander & a run around.
Catch a ferry to the Isle of Wight.
There is a soft play place in Fratton somewhere too, if the weather is awful.
I don't live there, but my parents live nearby, so we've done quite a few days out to Portsmouth. I'm sure local residents could give you more info.

Go to southsea to watch the hovercraft that goes over to IOW

catch a ferry over to Gosport

There used to be a fairground in southsea as well

there is a park right by the red funnel docking pier -- you can park right on the sea front there and watch the ships and submarines

Thanks for those replies

I've been looking at the tourist info site, and I think we're going to go to the Aquarium (DS will love that!) and the Spinnaker Tower, just because it looks fab.

RTKM - we'll be staying on the Naval base, so we should get quite a good view of the ships

I'm quite excited at the idea of spending a couple of days really concentrating on ds. Sad aren't I
