We fly to Mexico tomorrow (funeral). It's a flight with one change, and a 1h20m stopover (!!). DS2 is 16 months, and a good walker. Where we're going, I gather the roads aren't great, so a hard-wheel buggy will suck.
My transport options for DS2:
- backpack
- hard-wheel buggy
- inflated-wheel 3-wheeler
The backpack is good, but we're not used to it, and I don't know that he'll sleep in it. Tempted to take it for use in airports etc, as I'm pretty sure it could be a carry-on, for sure.
The hard-wheel buggy is ok for sleeping in, ok for travel, good for airports, but I'm worried they'll put it in the hold anyway, so we won't use it in transit, and won't want it when there.
The inflated-wheel buggy is great for sleeping in, but sucks to fit in cars etc. I'm told we have an MPV for the trip to the airport, and I think a pretty big car picking us up in Mexico. I've never travelled with this pram, though, and I think we'd need to deflate wheels before travel, carry a pump, etc etc.
I think I'm inclined to bring the backpack, use it as DS2's carryon allowance, and just use that. Dunno. Any opinions?
