NT membership: If I pay by direct debit, will it come out monthly?

Mine comes out annually, on the anniversary of the first payment.

I pay our National Trust for Scotland membership monthly (it's around a fiver iirc). You can also pay annually though.

We're no longer members but from memory, it was a one-off, annual payment by direct debit.

So dc are 4yo and 1yo.

Does this mean dh and I just need a joint membership?

And what happens when she turns five in November? Do we have to buy a whole new family membership or can we upgrade to family membership (ie just pay the extra?)

Annual but last year they had a problem with a batch and we were asked to pay by cheque much later. Not sure whether we ever got membership cards as a result Hmm One year they took it twice - decided when we upgraded to family membership mid year that the regular one was a "donation".

We got it back eventually, took a bit of arguing though and somehow we got 3 months "free" as we upgraded in April and then weren't charged until July following year.

As long as your DCs are under 5 it is just you and your DH.

Our membership always renews in May and this year we will have to upgrade in July when DD turns 5.

But I still think it is money well spend.

I have cancelled our NT membership because they always offer special incentives to get people to join and don't offer these incentives for existing members. So I will rejoin this summer because it will probably be cheaper.

The direct debit is annual BTW.
