Flying longhaul with 4yr and 2yr. What should I load on the iPod Touch?

I have an iPod touch (like an iPhone without the phone) that I can devote exclusively to the kids.

They haven't played with one before, but they're fascinated by the photos on my iPhone, so I know that it'll distract them for quite a while if I can get the right games and apps.

So, what games and apps for a 2yr-old boy and 4yr-old girl?

Hi, we have DS 3.5 and DD 1.5.

For free apps, try Lego/Duplo - we have Farm Friends and Duplo Jams. Fisher Price does some eg Baby Animals. iPlay and Sing has a selection of games in one app, good for older child.

Videos, depends on your kids - we have some Dora and Diego episodes bought from iTunes. You can convert your own DVDs using computer software - bit fiddly. CBeebies do podcasts with music + stories.

Have a good flight!

we have Fireman Sam on ours and Octonauts and Little Einsteins, basically anything they like to watch. Also Angry Birds for the older one. The 2yo loves it, but will keep trying to change the screen and you can't lock ours. We had an Ipod Classic with a speaker for DS1 who is now 6 and it worked like a mini telly. Not sure you can do that with the Touch?

Thanks a lot, I'll investigate those!

We had various games like slider puzzles, angry birds etc. However the aircraft system had better games, movies etc, so they (and all the lovely mp3 stories I downloaded) when unused!

Sorry- that should be went unused.

I've got loads on my iPod for 6yr old DD, just can't find the damn thing! Big hits with her are Dr Seuss books - we have about 10 I think, and started off as me having a wee trip down memory lane with her, Octonauts programmes, Mr Benn TV series, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Wallace & Gromit too. She loves the seasame street books - The Monster at the End of the Book, and Another Monster at the End of the Book. Really good ones IMO. She loves Cut the Rope games, Where's my Water, Bejewelled (seen me spending too long playing that one Blush ). She loves the Talking Tom apps, her favourite is Talking Rexy - T-Rex. She has Finding Nemo book, Mickey Mouse, Toy Story as well. It's cost me a small fortune buying this lot, but assuming I can find my ipod before we go on holiday it should keep her amused/entertained for a good chunk of our flight too.

I second the lego/ Duplo apps ( especially Lego age 4-7 even for a 2/3 year old) and I play and sing. Also search for apps related to your dcs' favourite characters ( we have Thomas, Dora and peppa). We have loads of educational phonics and number apps too. Also all the talking Tom etc apps provide endless fun for little ones. I recommend headphones though for your, and all the other passenger's, sakes!

My 3 year old loves all the toca boca games, there are about 8 different ones I think - hairdressers, house, cooking, robots, tea party etc. They're excellent, just put toca boca into the app store.

Also would recommend tozzle.

Thank you very much for the feedback. Could someone clarify for me which of the above are games, and which are programmes? Like, Octonauts are programmes, not games, right?

Obviously I'm only after games which work on the iPhone and iTouch, not iPad.
