Been told to test it before using on flight, as som e kids can react and become hyper. Should I just give to him a bedtime one night and see what happens? Still not really sure if I want to use it but think I will ahve as a back up.

melrose - we are flying to aus tomorrow with DS (4) and we tried it out on him last sat. My sister who did the same flight last year with a 1 yr old and 3 yr old was told that if you wan tot use it as a sedative you should really try it out at a time of day when they are active/wound up and that way you can see if it works. We tried it around 4ish after swimming lessons. It did seem to work but I will only use if desperate has (even with half dose) he was definitely 'drugged' iFYKWIM

Hate to tell you, but my ds was absolutely hyper with it - only tried it once!

Hi, it always worked like a dream with my twins. they were both travel sick, but the added side affect of falling asleep was a positive too. They tended to be moody the following day, as if they had a bit of hang over if you know what i mean. i would try it a bit earlier than what usual bed time is.

I have to use it with my two (ds - 6 and dd - 3.11) for severe travel sickness. Has the addedd advantage of making them dozy for long journeys too. Hope you have a good hol!
