We discovered this on our return from Dublin on the weekend and had to carry our 20mth old through the airport. Luckily this time I was not travelling alone nor do I have twins or a newborn. I would encourage anyone travelling with BMI to check ahead and those that are considering booking - DONT.

The policy is quite clear on their website - when did it change. I suppose it is a pain if you have a large pushchair, nice that you can have the buggy back straight away on landing as I've always had to carry baby / toddler through the airport to baggage reclaim.

Travelling with a buggy - a quick guide

On the majority of our services, we offer a drop off and pick up service at the side of the aircraft for buggies up to 5kg in weight, so that parents can use their buggy right up until they board and as soon as they leave the aircraft.

For buggies over 5kg, these can be checked in for free along with your hold baggage and collected at the baggage carousel along with your checked-in baggage.
