Have been invited to a party in Vegas next month and as its about 25 years since I was last there I have no idea where the best place to stay is.

TIA Smile

Most places are great! Wynn or encore are fabulous

swooosh · 09/04/2012 17:31

Wheres the party? Whats your budget? How old are you?

Rudawakening · 09/04/2012 17:35

What's your budget?

Bellagio and Wynn are great but can be very ££££. The new city centre hotels are good and reasonable.

Where is the party?

sailorsgal · 09/04/2012 17:36

Its for a 50th, and its only dh and I who are coming from England. I haven't said yes yet until I know two things, 1, dh will be home on time, and 2, we can afford it. Grin

I've stayed at the Luxor, which is lovely but you need to get a room in the pyramid.

sailorsgal · 09/04/2012 17:38

The only thing is that flights for the dates we want are not direct which is a real pain.

Where is everyone else staying, are the others American?as if so it might be cheaper for them to book the hotel for you in USD and you pay them back.

sailorsgal · 09/04/2012 17:41

I would say the budget to be around £1500 for 3/4 nights as just booked our family holiday.

I'm just wondering whether it would be cheaper to book a package though might email my friend and ask her where they are staying. its a surprise for her dh.

Is that in total or just for flights/accommodation?

Vegas is quite an expensive city re food and drink plus entertainment.

swooosh · 09/04/2012 17:43

The new hotels are gorgeous, Vdara, Aria and Cosmopolitan. Paris is fab as it's quite a small hotel, rooms in little need of a refurb but it's a lovely hotel.

swooosh · 09/04/2012 17:44

Wynn nice but a little fat from the action IMO.

Shazjack1 · 09/04/2012 17:47

We stayed at the Bellagio with a lake view room which was fabulous but have also rented a house there one year which was very relaxing not being right on the strip.

sailorsgal · 09/04/2012 18:09

That would be just for the flights/hotel. Bellagio looks my type of place and I like the look of the Vdara.

We are having a meal one night then on the Saturday we are seperating for a girls/boys night out. After watching Hangover part 1, I might go on my own. Grin

Looking at the Virgin site we probably wouldn't get much change out of £3000. It would be my airline of choice.

Just have to convince dh as these are friends of mine that I have known for years.

Try Expedia although I think their Flights are now with KLM rather than virgin but can be cheaper than virgin site itself. Bellagio is one of the most expensive hotels on he strip.

We've recently come back from a friend's wedding in Vegas. The wedding was in the Four Seasons which is part of the Mandalay Bay complex at the south end of the strip. We stayed in TheHotel Mandalay Bay which is all suites as we took our 3 DCs with us Hmm It was a lovely hotel but is at the far end of the strip so I wouldn't go there if you want to be in the thick of the action. The pool area is really lovely which might be worth considering if you'll have some downtime. Bellagio is beautiful but I think quite expensive, you could stay nearer and just pop along to see the fountains.

As you're going with friends you might want to stay in the same place. Our friends were only in the next-door hotel and it seemed like we had to walk miles to see them! I'd agree with the others that you end up spending, spending, spending in Vegas so if you're not bothered about luxury then I'd save money on your hotel if you can.
