Tent in Italy?

We're looking at going to either the Venetian coast or Tuscany in July with Eurocamp or Canvas holidays. Do you think it would be too hot at night in a tent? The cost of mobile homes is huge so looking at all the options. Also any recommendations for good campsites much appreciated.

I have been to Union Lido and Park Albatros with Canvas (though in a mobile). Both are great sites - though big and busy and you need to be on the ball in the morning to get a Sun Lounger. Preferred Albatros of the 2 - pool complex and entertainment/restuarants etc - though Union Lido is right on the beach. As I recall it wasn't too sweltering at night.

We've camped in August in northern Italy, and it wasn't too bad. Being on the coast helps!

we stayed here twice and it's amazing - met a British family who were in a tent and they were perfectly happy!

I've always been comfortable at nights in canvas tents, the fabric is breathable so they do cool down at night. We were in a heat wave last summer in one and I still had a sheet over me and used an open sleeping bag as a blanket.

After a week in a mobile I'd only go back to one in the summer if there was air con. It was swelltering at night.
