I am about to book a villa in Mallorca but have just noticed the swimming pool is salt water. We will be taking my 6m son and friends 5m daughter. Has anyone had any experience of them and if they are ok for babies?

Better than chlorine IMO. The pool we did baby swimming at was salt water and DS (3 months) went underwater etc with no problems, sore eyes etc at all.

They are pretty common and the salt is better for babies skin than chlorine and other harsh chemicals here.

Much nicer for the skin, especially if you have exema.

Salt water pools are not sea water pools. Salt - sodium chloride - is present in the water, but at much lower levels than is in the sea. As the water goes through the filtration system it goes through an electrolisis tube which turns the salt into its constuent parts - sodium and chlorine. The chlorine sterilises the water but by the time the water gets back to the pool it has recombined back with the sodium so only salt is present in the pool.

and you really dont need to shower afterwards, the salt leaves you soft and clean. i shampoo mine by the pool, then throw them in to rinse! and no more probs with green hair.
