Greece in October?

So, last time I went to Greece I was 19 and with 5 friends. You get the picture.

This year I was think of going to the Holiday Village in Kolymbia near Rhodes with dts (age 10). We like the activities and going out and about to see the area.

Really wanted to go to Tenerife but it's a good £600 dearer so no going up a volcano for us this year.

Any tips or hints greatly appreciated!

Interested to know how hot and sunny it will be then. So will keep an eye on the replies you get.

I've a friend who goes to Rhodes beginning of October who says it is funny and breezy. We would certainly consider it as with three you g children, lying for hours in the sun isn't an option!

'Sunny' but funny too I should imagine.

See because dts1 doesn't take to heat very well October is better than summer for us. Saying that the two times we've been to Portugal the temp has been between 26-28 degrees but he's never out of the water & we've learned how to cope with it so he doesn't have a horrible time!

I've only been to Greece as late as mid September but it is still hot enough to lie on the beach a day then and Rhodes is so much closer to Turkey - I think you will be fine, maybe a jumper in the evenings will be needed.

Any of the late crowd got any tips?

October should be about 18-whatever in the day and defnitely a jumper at night time. We've often been in October and, whilst it can be hotter than expected, it's usually warm during the day, sunbathing weather but not blisteringly hot. We went to Corfu last December, and even though it rained for a day, it was still like a British May Grin

October is the end of the season and the weather can sometimes be a mixed bag . I used to live there and it was still warm enough for us to sunbathe - so arriving from the UK it will defnitely feel warm . As already suggested a jumper or cardigan for night time.
