we are going to majorca in october. we have been three times now, twice to palma nova and once to santa ponsa. we love palma nova and have decided to use this as our base, hire a car and visit some of the rest of the island.

Where would you recommend?

we want to see the "real" majorca, as well as the touristy places.

we are hoping to move there in a few years and are starting our research now

Deia is beautiful. The rich live there.
Soller is also a lovely little town to walk round. You can get a little electric wooden train there from Palma, it goes through the mountains and is great fun and very picturesque. From Soller you can get a little cable car to Port de Soller. Perfect for a swim.
Drive from Soller to Pollensa in the North, through the mountains, is a lovely journey. Pollensa is a great little town with lots to see. Puerto Pollensa has a lovely beach and is fab for kids.
