We have about three spare hours to spend in this area on a Sunday afternoon.
Any ideas of something to do? (Adults)

Will be parked between Elephant and Castle and Burgess Park!

I would go up to Borough High St from E&C, or up to london Bridge (on the bus, use tfl journey planner to get route and buses from your exact location) and explore the South Bank round Borough Market. Southwark Cathedral, The Golden Hinde, the shops around the Market, walking along the river.

It's that or Comet and PC World on the Old Kent Rd!

Thanks.
Definitely don't want to spend three hours in Comet and Pc world!

No, nor the E&C shopping centre! Grin

It isn't the most obviousl location for a nice day out in London.

Second Indie's suggestion, unless your party includes the sort of men people who'd prefer the Imperial War Museum - which is fascinating in its own way and a short walk from E&C, but not everyone's cup of tea.
Alternatively you'd be a short bus ride from Greenwich so that's yet another good option - your pick.

StringOrNothing · 28/03/2012 19:33

actually, not a short bus ride from Greenwich now I think of it, but a simple one, so still an option.

I think the Imperial War Museum is great for anyone - I think u

Look at website to see what there - I love it!

Yes, the Imperial War Museum is an excellent idea and is interesting, with exhibitions about the social aspects of war, a mock up of the trenches, and inside an Anderson shelter with lots of oral history recordings. Lots of different parts of the museum, I don't think it is a 'boys toys' glorification of war.

I think it would take quite a while on the bus to Greenwich. Travel times are usually longer than the tfl journey planner site says.

Hadn't even thought of the IWM!

Thank you all very much.
