Bugger, flying to Spain in 3 days - haven't got a paper part to my driving licence or an EHI card

Just found out that to hire a car in Spain, DH and I will need to produce the paper counterparts to our plastic licences. Gawd knows where they are and DVLA says it takes 2 weeks to get them. Am I going to have to go to bloody Swansea if I can't find them?

Also, if we have travel insurance is it necessary to have a European health card jobby to access health care if we need it?

I didn't have a paper part to my driving licence and it did take a couple of weeks to get it. Good luck with that.

You don't need the EHIC card if you have insurance, it is useful but not necessary.

DH seems to think he has seen the paper licences recently, so that is good news, and glad to hear the cards are not necessary. Thanks Sootica.

Normally EHIC card is a good idea because it will sometimes reduce the excess on any medical claim you make on your travel insurance.
