Please could any of you Londoners recommend a nice hotel near(ish) Covent Garden - it's for a midweek stay, preferably with parking.
TIA lmb

My husband got a good deal on a Travel Lodge £49/night for the room (ie not per person). Is that too expensive?

There are Travel Lodges all over London, but they probably vary in price. But if you're booking far enough in advance you might get a good deal.

Thanks prettybird. Although I have, and do, stay in travelodges as this is a treat from my DH I was thinking more along the lines of the Savoy

try Covent Garden Hotel in Monmouth St (there is an NCP car park on Monmouth St, or there used to be!?)

Great location, they have a website. Their four poster bedroom has a plasma tv and the largest bed in London, 8ft square!

Or try lastminute.com and type in Covent Garden, they had a few there.

Meridien Piccadilly? Don't know if it's got parking but it does have a Champneys!

Another vote for the Covent Garden in Monmouth St - really gorgeous. The Soho Hotel in Richmond Mews is a bit scrumptious too, although not quite so close to Covent Garden. One Aldwych is not far either. So many to choose from!!!

OK, I have credit card in hand, so before I book the Covent Garden does anyone else have a suggestion?? also, has anyone ever stayed at the Savoy ... that's a similar price so I'm still tempted? and their rate includes breakfast - I don't like it when you stay somewhere and it's an extra £50 each for breakfast - I'd rather spend the money on shoes!
Where is PPH when you need her?

Check out www.firmdale.com, they own the Covent garden but check out the others & their home website.

I'd far rather stay at the Covent Garden (or other Firmdale) than the Savoy.

I've looked at the firmdale site thanks - Covent Garden still looks the best - is the Savoy a bit naff/touristy - I don't mind being a tourist - I'm coming all the way from Leeds LOL
