Cyprus Car seats

Booked flights to cyprus for me and DD to visit relatives later this year. Dd is 2 and small/light for her age.

I need to find out what the position is with car seats in Cyprus and problem is worsened as car out there is very old and is probably going to suffer from buckle crunch from most standard seats.

has anyone hired seats out there? Or know if you can fit a seat in the front forward facing perhaps?

Thanks

I hired a carseat for my then 3 year old DS two years ago. I may as well not have bothered. It fit the car so badly I doubt it would have protected him very much. Maybe try and hire a known brand of seat? Or take your own I think you can as a large item?

Cheers for reply.

I doubt the seat we have will fit the extremely old peugeot out there - as apparently they are prone to "buckle crunch" and i don't fancy trying to lug it out there along with DD and luggage on my own to find it doesn't fit. I know some seats here would fit in the front seat but had a feeling that children weren't allowed to sit in the front over there. Groan. I would say I'd just get a taxi but I remember how unsafe I always felt in taxis and that was pre-DD.

Is there any way that the people/family could sort one out for you in Cyprus before you get there? They have the car I am assuming so would be able to see what fits? I might have just had bad luck. Hope you get it sorted.

Its difficult as family out there don't live there permently - its their holiday home and they'll be visiting at the same time. Cheers anyway i think i'll be trying to find a seat over here which is sure to fit in a 306 and taking it over!
