Belton Woods in Lincolnshire

We are going to stay here for a few days mid April with MIL and SIL. We're doing a few things with MuddyGoodFun but they don't have much availability. I hear that there is a good National Trust place right by there. I there anything else that you would recommend we do or see please? DCs are 10 and 7.

TIA

The NT place is Belton House, which is interesting to look around, has a good cafe, and has an adventure playground in the woods (Grantham hospital A&E just down the road...)

Grantham itself doesn't have much going for it (and the parking is often diabolical).

Other places a short drive away - Burleigh House on the edge of Stamford: lovely house (Heaven and Hell ceilings from the Greek/Roman myths), a sculpture walk and a Garden of Surprises -mind the fountains).

If you did that trip, you'd pass very close to Isaac Newton's house in Woolsthorpe (also NT).

Here's a link to the local paper, the Grantham Journal which may well have info about forthcoming events in the area.

thanks EdithWeston. The Garden of Surprises sounds interesting. Should we take a towel? Smile

Towel - yes!

(Alert adults will be able to elude - children that age, on a warm day, will come out anywhere between damp and soaking).
