I want to take my 4 year old dd away in half term in october

It will be our first holiday abroad together and will just be the two of us as we are on our own, I want somewhere that is not too far away on a plane as it will also be her first time on a plane, not boiling hot as she gets a little cranky. Not bothered about a kids club as it is just the two of us I wouldn?t put her in it anyway.
It sounds silly but I would want somewhere that I would feel safe being on my own away from home ? I know once this holiday is out of the way it won?t be an issue again.
Where is the best place to go that is not to expensive (not sure this exists in half term but I can try)

how are you with driving abroad and hire car? or do you jsut want to fly somewhere and check in to a hotel close by. safety isnt a problem, you will feel far safer in a mediteranean beach resort than in most english towns, and driving is much easier as the roads are so so much quieter. and the 2 of you can jsut chill out and relax and play on the beach and have an early night, sounds blissfull!
