Travel cot for toddler - Nomad or Little Life Arc 2 - help please!

Need advice, looking for a travel cot for 2 year old dd - hopefully large enough to last another year or so and portable for camping/weekends/plane travel. Like look of Nomad but cost is around £120 with mattress and sleeping bag (have found somewhere selling new one on sale for £40 but now need to find the mattress/sleeping bag from somewhere). Now considering little life arc 2 but the mattress seems so thin not sure my daughter will entertain this and sleepless toddler does not a holiday make!

Can anyone recommend either of these and do you think the Nomad worth the extra £££. also the Nomad seems much smaller in width so perhaps the little life is better for older toddlers.....

Thanks!

you might be better off with a ready bed rather than a travel cot

Thanks Seona, I had considered one of those but worried that my dd may think it's a trampoline and not for a full night's sleep! They are much cheaper though so I think it's worth trying...

Yes, don't think I'd buy a travel cot for a 2 yr old, you won't get much use. We have a Nomad (used from 6m old, for both DC so worth it IMO). It seems to have been very comfy (we got the blow up mattress, but no special sleeping bag, just used GroBag), but neither of my DC was particularly big and I wouldn't have used past 2.5. Both were sleeping in a bed at home by then, so went in a bed when away. Camping I can see you will want something, but for weekends away, can you just buy a travel bed rail and use the bed that's there?

Swear by the Phil and teds travel cot as you can take the side of it and the children treat it as their ''tent'' to sleep in. Makes them feel grown up. Its very light, fits inside a standard suitcase, and is easy to erect once you have done it the first time!:) It comes with a lid ie mozzie net and removable side and self inflating mattress. Its big enough that my 4 year old son still sleeps in it.! We travel alot and I used a samsonite bubble when my LO were infants and then moved them on to the P&T. Well recommended.

Thanks wearymum, I was worried about not getting much use out of tent bed but we are planning a lot of trips this year and maybe a few camping weekends so hopefully will get to use it a bit. Ended up getting a little life arc 2 from ebay last night and will see how it goes but travel bed rail a very good idea - who makes those?

Mummy Pig, I loved the samsonite bubble cot too, my daughter slept through the night for first time in one of those! Can't believe I missed the Phil and Teds travel cot in my search - if little life one doesn't do the trick then will consider.

Grandparents have bought a ready bed today so we have a few options, if she ends up sleeping ok in that then I guess it may be time to take the side off her cot at home... yikes!

Lots of people make them, think ours is this one:
www.amazon.co.uk/Baby-Sleep-Safe-fold-guard/dp/B000NCBSF6
we use it all the time at home as well; ds1 had it until dd2 went into a bed

With 2 years DD slept in a normal single bed when we went on holiday. We had a Little Life one and DD woke up because she bumped against the sides.

Little life cot is totally brilliant; we used it for DS for several months at one point, and the thickness of the mattress was completely fine.
