I'm pullimg my hair out! We of course have left it far too late, have a group of 10 looking for a 4 bed house in France with pool for around £1K a week - is this even possible???

I'm sorry but I feel your prices are unrealistic. A 4 bed house/gite/villa with a pool in August is going to be more like £2k. You won't even get Eurocamp for 10 people for £1k.

One week available here www.ownersdirect.co.uk/france/FR8327.htm in August but price is £2600

If you don't want a pool then you may get something for that price. Try an advance search on owners direct.

Thanks for your reply. We have now found quite a few, we just needed to hunt them down - just need to agree with the other family! Owners Direct is quite a pricey website and I agree about Keycamp etc too. We were originally looking at camping (this was a couple of years ago) but found a house that was cheaper than the campsites - was an amazing house too, we're just a smaller group this year.

The problem is that electricity/gas/water bills in France can be astronomical so housing ten people can really hoik up the overheads for many owners.

My mother rents her house in France out but I think she would want 2k for that many people for a week. It is lovely though, rural, 4 bed with en suite, gardens and pool. Message me if you are interested and I can ask her.

This is a nice area of France to rent for the summertime - no pool with this house but plenty of places to swim in the area from our own experience. And cheap :) www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/p845109
