Rockies help!

I am planning our family road trip in an RV for the summer and am completely overwhelmed.

We fly to Calgary .want to "do" the main sights in the rockies in 10 days.then we want to go onto Vancouver island for a relaxing 6 days .then I have booked a hotel in Vancouver for 4 nights before we fly home.
I have been told that I am bonkers trying to do the Rockies and v island and looking at the distances I do agree.anyway it's booked now.

What I need is to know is how can we break up the massive trip from Golden to Vancouver.where/ how many stops/RV sights?

Help! I hope someone has done this trip.

Well, we did Toronto - Jasper - Victoria - Vancouver. Admittedly the main stretch was by train but I dont think what youre suggesting is mad at all.

We did Vancouver for a few days (which is well worth a visit by the way - loads of things to see/do there - let me know if you want tips) then drove to the Rockies via I think it was Calistoga. It was very doable as the roads and driving are so easy compared to this country. We had a one night stop over in Calistoga and then went on to Whistler. The Rockies are out of this world - you will have a fab time. Then we flew home out of Calgary. Admittedly we were advised to do either Rockies or Vancouver Island but you have the time to do both I think. It's a wonderful holiday.

Sorry - I realised I meant Lake Louise not Whistler is where we stayed in the Rockies (don't know why this suddenly dawned on me on the way home from work today!)

Vancouver Island is fantastic, if you get a chance to go to Tofino then do so. We did Vancouver and the rockies, but we flew from Vancouver to Calgary.
You are there for 20 days so you should have enough time, personally I would have opted for less time in Vancouver but then we aren't great city people.
Lake Louise is gorgeous as is Banff.

We are going to Tofino....have just booked site.thought we might stay for 5days to chill out.
