Mark Warner on the cheap?

i've just called MW to price a holiday for a week in June at their new resort and it's come in at £4k for a family of 4!!! i don't understand how it can be so expensive.

does anyone know if you wait till last minute you can get it much cheaper? my worry is that childcare places might not be available. Has anyone had experience of this?

thanks

I havent been on a Mark Warner holiday for a few years but from what i remember ( i have been five times) if you want to go in school holidays I wouldn't risk hanging on as the childcare places probably will get booked up. If the week in June you want to go is during term time it may be worth hanging on for reductions.

I've been looking at mark warner, as quite like the idea of going to sardinia, but was horrified at the prices, if you fsncy greece or turkey neilson seem chesper, but i am looking out of season, not sure if you are. I have been away with neilson twice to beachclubs, both lovely, good food, watersports and activities, didn't have children at the time, so can't comment on the childcare, but believe it exists and happy looking children seemed to be enaged in beach type activities!

Yes looking out of season. One of our last times to do it before ds goes to school!

Do people really pay those prices? We have been to mw 3 times and loved it hence wanting to go back but a big part of me it's not worth it.

Anyone been on a first choice all inclusive?

I have been FC all inc. Wouldn't do it again.

The kids clubs are brilliant. The hotel we were at had so much for kids to do it was great but I hate AI. Breakfast and lunch were good. Dinner not so. Only one flavour of white, red and rose wine. Spirits were very cheap and nasty.

The hotel is to be UK only over the summer months and spending my time with 3000 brits in an AI environment would be my idea of utter hell. There were already enough blokes walking around with a pint at 10 am in their England top.

I haven't been but heard good things about Sani village Halkidiki

sailorsgal · 17/03/2012 14:51

Which village and which week in June? The Sardinia one was coming in at around £2000 on an offer I was sent for two adults and one child for the second week (which isn't half term). I was just about to book and thought I would read the reviews on tripadvisor first. Glad I did as it sounds terrible! We are now thinking of going to one of the Sensatori resorts which seem very reasonable.

Yes the Sani beach club is very nice. Friends went last year and raved about it though expensive for drinks.
