Anybody stayed at Eurocamp at La Vallee, Houlgate, Normandy?

We are looking at a holiday along the lines of Eurocamp for this summer. We would be going in the first week or second week of July with the dcs who are 6yo and 2yo.

Has anybody been there, and what's it like? We have never been to anywhere like this before, we normally stick to visiting people in the UK so this would be all new to us. Childhood holidays for us were always in a caravan in the pishing rain on the west coast of scotland!

We are looking at the caravan type thinggies (Horizon they seem to call it)

TIA

Okay, I haven't stayed there we have stayed at one the other side of Caen. There is lots to do around there, Honfleur is very pretty and I think there was a butterfly place there (it was very rainy that day, late August).
Is there a little persons kids club? If the children's reps are on site there is usually a box of toys you can borrow.
That time of year is often better weather than August. Everything should be quite lively, as it is the French holidays, so I would expect the campsite to be busy with French and other Europeans and Scots.
With a Caravan you do have greater warmth if it turns cold or it rain.

I am sure you will have a great time.

Thanks mummytime. So is eurocamp generally ok do you think? Or do they vary from site to site?

the name rings a bell. i think it may be the one we used as a stopover for 1 night. we were right next to a very noisy train line - i mean right next to it. would have driven me nuts for longer than 1 night. suggest checking if its the case and if so ensuring you get a pitch over other side of site. area and site seemed nice from what i can remember otherwise

have you looked at reviews on ukcampsites.co.uk

eurocamp are generally ok but all mobile home companies vary a bit from site to site. suggest getting the biggest one you can afford
