Looking at Menorca for early July, will have 1& 2 year old.Ideally want sandy beach, tasteful resort, somewhere we can go for a walk after dinner with the pushchair etc.We like Puerto Pollensa in Majorca, is there anywhere a bit like this? And can anyone recommend a nice apartment or hotel with family suites so we & kids have separate bedrooms? Thanks

I would also recommend Son Bou given the age of your kids. If they like the beach, the one here is fabulous and huge (4km). It is also very pretty (white sand, azure sea, villas perched up on the hills around).

The main road around and through the resort is a couple of km long and makes for a lovely stroll on an evening. I have not stayed in the resort, as we stay in a villa inland, but it is my favourite beach to visit (a few minutes walk along the beach is becomes almost deserted and nudist friendly). It is quite commercialised in the resort centre, but not in a trashy way imo.

The Insotel Punta Prima also is amazing (SIL and BIL their kids stayed there one year and we went to visit them for the day). Amazing facilities and pools, tons for younger kids to do. It was like a small village. The beach is much smaller than Son Bou, but very pretty and the resort is more traditional.

Santa Thomas. We had some wonderful holidays there when DCs were tiny. It has a huge beautiful beach and a few hotels and restaurants. We had a large two bedroomed apartment here which had loads of space and a little fenced garden.

Love Cala'n Bosch. Been there 5 times with babies, toddlers and school kids. Fab resort.

Secret Sant Tomas lost most of its beach during a freak storm a few years ago.

I didn't know that about Santo Tomas, Diablo.

I think Cala 'n' Bosch is the perfect resort for families with small children. It has 2 nice beaches, playgrounds, Dotto train, waterpark nearby and a lovely harbour where the restaurants are situated.

If you just want a fab beach but not much else, go to Son Bou.

yes, it was lovely last year in santo tomas, the beach is gorgeous!

lop - didn't they have to ship in some sand from the Sahara?

I haven't visited that particular resort for 5 or 6 years, but some friends told me it is much narrower now than it used to be? If it is still a good beach then great! Grin It's a nice little resort with a reputation for being family friendly.

Went to Santo Tomas last year, kids loved it. The beach was lovely and sandy. There is a pushchair-friendly path that goes from one end of the resort to the other (not that far, but decent distance with toddlers!). Es Pins restaurant at one end of the resort was great for kids and had a playground too. It is a very quiet resort so no groups of teenagers and no late night bars. There is at least one bakery for baguettes for lunch and a few shops for groceries, pharmacy, car hire places.

The Mestral and Lleibeig Apartments were good, although we went self-catering and I think (but not sure) it's now all-inclusive only. There are 2 pools, and one is a splash pool with some little slides which your 2yo could do on their own, and the 1yo with help. V shallow so they can sit or stand in. Also have a playground there and a covered bar for some shade. The Mestral section has apartments around the splash pool and playground, Lleibeig is the other side which is quieter.

Ps what is the name of the apartments or hotel in Majorca that you have stayed in please? Would be good to know for future reference as on our list of places to go!
