We've been to TurKey in late July and early august and it's been too hot. When does it start to cool of a bit please?

Late August will still be as hot. It will start to cool down during September.

squeaver · 06/03/2012 11:21

Way too hot to go outside for 4- 5 hours in the middle of the day, ime.

Bearcat · 07/03/2012 22:13

Kas was still extremely hot mid September.

Tranquilidade · 07/03/2012 22:15

We went mid-Sept last year and it was still very hot

CoteDAzur · 07/03/2012 22:16

Turkey is a big country. Where do you plan to go?

ladybird4 · 11/04/2012 20:56

53 degrees in 2010 during the first week in August at Lykia World, Olu Deniz - my husband had been working in The Gambia earlier that year and said that wasnt as hot! Thankfully last year during second week in August (back at Lykia World!) it was only...44 degrees! If you can't stick the heat stay outta Olu Deniz in August - personally I LOVE it :)

SooticaTheWitchesCat · 12/04/2012 11:15

I bet that 53 degrees was taken from a thermometer taken on the bar or something Shock so not a real temperature.

The highest recorded (true) temperature ever in Turkey was 47 degrees!

I have used a site called www.weatherinturkey.org.uk, they show the weather by month and by region. Useful for finding out which places and months offer decent weather that is not to hot or costly.

It's was late 40s every day last August in hisaronu. We flew out on the 18th for 2 weeks.

Going to turkey again next year. We loved it.

i went to lykia world in late august time (just before the end of the school holidays) and it was brilliant! best holiday i have ever been on the weather and food was amazing, couldn't ask for anything more. We did a range of activities such as paragliding and was worth the price 100%. The temperature there got up to low 50's!! too warm for walking around and sightseeing just very nice to relax and enjoy the sun

Got back from Turkey on Sunday and the weather was a bit hit and miss the last few days, was talking to dp about going next year when it's much hotter, have dc now aged 6 and 14, is it too hot in July/august?

We went to Kusadasi, security is super strict coming home by the way...

emilybrontescorset · 31/05/2017 08:34

I went to alanya in August and it was far too hot to be enjoyable.
I've been to lots of places in August and gnat was the hottest place I have visited.

Don't know if possible (or if you are thinking this year!) but if you can go late May / early June we found that to be a lot more pleasant. Mostly 30ish rather than 40+.
