Self catering with out a car...

... in the UK or Europe. Is it possible?

I don't drive and I want to take the two children away for a week or two but it has just occurred to me that not being able to drive is going to limit me somewhat. DD is 16 & ds is 5.

We've done self-catering without a car. As long as you're in a city, it's fine.

well, not anywhere rural! but you could have a fab time in amsterdam or paris, or at the good old british seaside

Amsterdam or Paris... that sounds great. Will start some research.

Oh, we stayed in a great self-catering place in Paris. Right in Le Marais, with a bedroom with a little balcony bit over it for another bed, and a pull-out sofa. Nice kitchen, in a great neighbourhood.

We are heading to Costa Dourada, to a Sibly campsite. It is only 14 miles from the airport so we are not bothered about hiring a car as we will spend a couple of days in Barcelona and a Portaventura. We might hire one for a couple of days.

WE have done Paris with the kids and its one place you will be thankfull you don't have a car, just look at all the scrapes on every parked car you see.

Once you decide on the kind of holiday you want I think it is just about doing lots of research (plus consulting MN ).
