Might sound a bit Hmm but I'm traveling to London from Glasgow with easy jet at the end of march when my dd will be 6 months old. Do I need a passport for her...? I'm in process of application for one as I'm off to Canada with her in may, but just wondering about getting it through on time. I've checked easy jet website and it says under 16's don't need photo id as long as they are on their parents passport, however I didn't think this was done anymore? Can anyone throw some light on this please?!

hi, as far as the easyjet programmes on the TV used to show Everybody needs a passport who is traveling on a plane. I dont think that children can go on parent passports any more. So please dont leave it to chance, the passport service do get quite a quick turn-arround on them even 1st time passports, usually 1 week to 6 weeks tops once they have all the correct paperwork. would defo just get one done for DD asap.

We have never taken photo id for DD7 for all the flights we have done up and down to Glasgow since she was born (including the one we did in January).

Oh that's reassuring to know. I sent passport form off on Monday then my friend who signed photo text to say she had forgotten to put in her passport number on the form! I called the office to ask about it. He said it will prob cause a delay as they will need to write to her asking for it etc. iv to call back on Monday to see what stage it's all at. Can I ask, was it easyjet you flew with? What age is dd? I honestly thought it was a little crazy to need a passport for her anyway, but I didn't want to take the risk!!
