I have the opportunity to go to a conference there in August and part of me would love to take the DDs - they'll be 5 and 7. Looks like a nice, laid back place for pottering and a bit of culture. DH would come and they'd spend the time I was at the conference together, then we'd all have a few days together. We've never taken them abroad (bar a short hop on Eurostar to visit family) and they have not flown since they were babies, so the trip itself would be quite a big deal and I don't mind that it's not an obvious holiday destination - I'm not big on theme parks etc. What I'm worried about is the heat - will it just be unbearable and too hot to enjoy outdoors stuff? Anyone been there/live there?
