Sun in April? Somewhere with other kids for 4.5yr old DD to play with.

We have decided to try to find some sun in April for about a week. We have one DD so we want somewhere with kids she can play with and are happy to try out all-inclusives, but DH doesn't want anywhere with too much jetlag and I am having trouble finding anything affordable in Europe that will be open and/or sunny. Any ideas? Thanks!

I am trying to find the same! I was thinking of Paphos in Cyprus - avergage seems to be 22 degrees which would be nice but can obviously be unsettled so bit of a gamble. I am also unsure whether there will be things to do if weather not great etc...

You could try luabay hotel in Tenerife. You can book direct. Hotel is good. Lots of children about. Has soft play too. If you want to book kids club you need to book it through first choice as it is the holiday village Tenerife.

Second vote for Luabay in Tenerife - we're going there for the last week in March, and went in April last year with our 2 DSs. DS1 is 4.9 this year and there will be loads of things for him to do, whether he wants to join in with the kids' club or not. Mini-disco every night and lots of child-centred things, plus guaranteed nice weather and food which even the fussiest eaters will like.

was the pool at Luabay heated in March when you went sleepy chunky?

How about a self catering apartment in Elviria near Marbella?? South facing terrace with a little enclosed lawn. 2 1/2 hours from UK...Drive only 30 minutes from Malaga airport. Fully equipped for babies and small children. Quiet location with 4 childrens and 4 swimming pools...aqua parks, zoo, safari park, treetop adventures all within a few miles, beach 3 kms?

soudsn nice Rpsie - are any of the pools heated at that time of year?

may be a bit late on this but we went to a place in south west france last year which specialises in young families. They have 5 cottages and the kids all played together happily as there is lots to do on site as well as the usual pool and playgrounds plus they had easter agg hunts etc. It was just an hour flight but we drove it which was a good day of driving ferry etc but well worth it for the weather. Their website is www.bestfrenchgites.com and I think they have a special offer of 25% off for easter holidays so ask about that

www.caseriodelmirador.com in spain also have a few gaps left for april with 25% off. 5 families at a time all with small children and all the gear and plenty of space if you want privacy, but great for the kids all pottering around together chasing goats and rabbits etc. food is excellent. its one of mumsnets top picks. another place further south is www.padre-aviles.com
