I would love to take my dd to southern France for a villa holiday this September (term time), I need a nice sleepy town, hopefully near the beach with great restaurants!! I don't know much about the towns in France and would love some recommendations. We will be going with my db who has some mobility issues so nowhere with millions of stairs if possible.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Strawberrytallcake

Can highly recommend looking for a villa/holiday on 'Tots to Travel' website. If you don't want to trawl through the properties, you can ring them up, give them your requirements and they will narrow down the search for you and give you some options. We have used them a few times for gites in France and they are brilliant. Especially when I needed a last minute holiday to France in August one year and was trying to book in late July!

We have also used "Baby Friendly Boltholes" as well.

Both companies are great and the properties we have stayed at (in various countries) have been fab!.

Happy searching!

Thank you ever so much! I will have a good look on those sites now. You know when you see so many villas they all blur into one??

Sure do, we are planning our next holiday to SA and I can relate to that very well at the moment....

We love the south of France, in fact France in general. Have stayed at a great place near Carcasonne (15 mins away in the countryside) called Le Sarrail. Was a bit pricey, but we shared the biggest gite with another family so it was much more cost effective. It was fab though. Beaches were about 30 mins away though (had a gorgeous heated pool). Booked this through Baby Friendly Boltholes (don't be put off by the name I still use them and our kids are older now).

Another great place we stayed was Chateau de Gurant, Le Coin gite, in the Charante region (got this through Tots to Travel). It was brilliant not by the sea but had a fantastic pool. They had a river beach not too far away which we took the kids to and they loved it.

We would go back to both.

Another place you could consider is Brittany, easy to drive around and you are always relatively close to the coast. We stayed in Dinant (I was pregnant with DS1) in the countryside. Great place to take kids, some fab beaches, even if the water was cold. We were there in May.

Was considering it possibly this August for our summer holiday.

Happy hunting!

I'll be watching this thread with interest as I was about to post exactly the same question, although we hope to be travelling end April/may. I saw le sarrail and thought it looked nice. Baby friendly bolt holes is a good website, and I'll definitely be looking at tots to travel too.
