Hi everyone,

DH and I are off to Rome for a weekend soon, and we were wondering if anyone had booked tickets for the Vatican online, the ones that allow you to skip the queue, and would recommend doing it?

i think if its anywhere near easter prob better to get in advance although the queue is for security not for tickets, ie even tho you have your ticket you still have to queue for ages to get in to get thru the security check. we went in december wih the kids, and did everything on spec and it was great.
we stayed close to the trevi fountain at www.casatrevi.it/
and our favourite place to eat was www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g187791-d786482-Reviews-Il_Chianti-Rome_Lazio.html

Ah, that's what I was wondering- we haven't been for 20 (Shock) years so I suspect the security is quite different!

I think we'll just book, its only four euros more anyway.

Thank you for your recommendations!!

WE went to Rome for the first time in November and booked the Vatican online in advance.
AS it turned out, we needn't have bothered, was very quiet. No problems at all with security - just whizzed straight through the scanners with no queues.
