Sunday afternoon and night in Islington with 3 kids - any ideas?!

We arrive in London at lunch time on a Sunday and leave Monday morning for France in March. We have 6yr, 4yr and 13 month old children and have no realistic idea what to see or do in this short length of time. I don't know London but our hotel is in Islington and we are on a very tight budget. Kids will be tired so don't know where we should head to. Does anyone have any ideas or guidence please?! Don't just want to stay in the Premier Inn that we have booked, any child friendly restaurants or near to fun things to do? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

There is a great kids play area at Highbury Fields. Walk up Upper St (Islington High Street) to Highbury and Islington Station and it's across the road. It has a huge slide down a hill, a zip line, plus all the usual. It's free and there are toilets on site and coffee shops nearby.

For food I recommend the Blue Legume on Upper St as is open all day, has lovely food, is very child friendly, has highchairs etc and isn't too pricey. There is also a Giraffe restaurant on Essex Rd.

Hope you enjoy your stay.

You could also try Coram's Fields, which is, as its website says, "a haven for play". No adults are allowed in without an accompanying child, and there are on-site staff providing friendly light-touch supervision. There's a nice playground, a sports area and a pets' corner with rabbits, goats etc. There's also a very nice vegetarian cafe called the Kipferl, which is completely child-friendly and which has excellent coffee!

that looks great as well - never knew that was there

thanks so much both of you for your suggestions - we are back in the area later in the year so think we will do both - highbury fields this time and then corams fields later in the year

thank you so much for sorting out our day (and our next trip!) really appreciate you both taking the time to post thanks you!
