Hello everyone,

We are expecting baby #1 in May 2012 - I'm currently 28.5 weeks pregnant. Hubby has very sweetly suggeste dthat we go on a last holiday before baby arrives, and so whilst trying to negotiate with my boss for a bit of holiday befroe mat leave starts, I'm also now full of questions..

when can we travel up until?
where would be a good place to go?
Where's hot in march and not to far?
Any prep that I should do before we go anywhere? Insurance/docs etc?

Help! Would love to tget away if it's possible! I'm sure I've seen ladies with bumps abroad in the past!!

OOOooooo brilliant. We did this and went to Algarve. It was great, stacks of secluded beaches as coast line is all scalloped so you can escape crowds really easily, by just walking to the next little bit. We stayed away from really touristy bits. Hired car and toured mountain villages etc. Wasn't too hot or cold in March and actually as it is before their hot summer there are lots of green and flowers whereas later in the year it can be quite brown. food was great. Can't remember exactly but can fly up to about 32/4 weeks I think (depends on airline policy) but you have to get a doctors note to show the airline to say you're fit to fly, also have to get insurance but I didn't find it difficult, it made a slight difference to the premium.

Basically, apart from declaring you are preggers to the airline, having a doctors note and insurance being aware you are preggers it is holiday as normal.

We stayed here:

Just had a click on my own link for the memories and they have a 20% discount going till end of March - fortuitous? It isn't luxurious but it is clean and comfortable.

owner is british but lived there forever and is VERY knowledgeable about things to do, places to go etc (best secret beaches). Nothing too much trouble and his wife is lovely.
