Am I being a bit thick?

Can one fly to New York from London Gatwick? Have been searching for flights from London, but they only seem to leave from Heathrow?

If anyone has flown from Gatwick, could they let me know which airline, please?

Also, if I have to fly from Heathrow, which airline is best?

Thanks

I think you can fly from gatwick with air lingus but a stop is involved. I recommend Virgin from Heathrow as I think their on board entertainment is good.

Gatwick has a page for destinations and airlines (look at the very bottom of the website). No nothing flies to New York only to Florida. You could get an internal flight if it really matters I suppose.

You;d be far better off flying direct rather than having to stop over.

Would suggest you use a British based carrier like Virgin or BA to fly to either Newark or JFK from Heathrow. Having used both over the years, Newark is far better than JFK.

Thanks all. Have very recently flown with Virgin, so am happy to fly with them again.

Heathrow it is, then. More of a pain to get to from where I live but am travelling with my mum, so a direct flight would be better.
