30th birthday in Sydney

Me DH and DS (20mo) are heading to Australia for 6 weeks. Whilst we are there it is my 30th birthday and we have decided to spend a couple og nights in a nice hotel in Sydney. We are looking for somewhere with baby listening, so that we can go downstairs and have a nice meal and some drinks. I have a couple of friends there so would be good to choose somewhere with a cool bar so they can meet us for a drink.

Any suggestions? Planning to splash out a bit and quite fancy the Rocks area. All experiences welcome!

Thanks

Hi melrose
Would recommend Rocks area, good choice. The hotel I stayed in was Harbour Rocks, but just nice, old fashioned, not trendy and prob. no baby listening (pre-DD so not sure). Anyway, just wanted to say the Rocks is great, v. central to good places to eat etc and the ferries for trips etc.
Have fun!
