We have the opportunity to stay in a lovely finca, I think maybe in the hills, but 10 mins from Puerto Pollenca.
Very excited, but need more info!

Thanks popflos
I saw that after I posted, but would still like more info.
its not Puerto pollensa on the coast, but pollensa inland, I think.
So interested in the drive to the coast and pollensa itself.
have asked the owner for more info, but just being impatient

I preferred Pollensa to Puertoa Pollensa. Lovely old town, gorgeous town square, lovely shops & restaurants, if you've got a pool then drive to beach not such a big deal.

We stayed in Puerta Pollensa and visited Pollensa while we were there - tbh, it may have been the time of year we were there (late September) but it was utterly dead with lots of stuff closed, we much preferred Puerta Pollensa.

the 'dead' thing could well be the time of day. early afternoon everything is closed, not just in august but all year, nothing open between 1.30 and 5pm so it looks dead. Mallorca doesnt close till about the 9th November.

I think villages tend to keep more traditional siesta hours than tourist resorts.

If you do stay in Pollensa, you can get a public bus to Puerto P. I say bus, more like a coach. We were in PP and used to take the morning bus, have a light lunch in Pollensa and get the bus back in the afternoon.

Pollensa old town is lovely -great atmosphere and a great place for evening meal /drinks /relax.
Puerto pollensa about 10 mins? away and has nice beach , pine walk cafes etc touristy but not too in your face touristy and not in a magaluf type way !!
There is a pollensa forum online which will prob give you loads of info.
It's a really nice part of Mallorca

Lovely old town- lots of little nooks, crannies and squares. Lovely bars, cafes and restaurants and loads of little shops (One of my favourite jewellery shops ever is in old town Pollensa a little way up the steps to the church on the hill.)

One tip- don't take a big car there the streets are very narrow!

The old town is also only a short 10 min drive to Puerto Pollensa where there are more bars, cafes, restaurants, shops and a lovely beach. It's also not that far to drive from there up into the mountains where there are some lovely walks and scenery.

Definitely the nicer side of the Island- much nicer than the south.
