Calcot Manor - anything really worth seeing in surrounding area?

Am off to Calcot this weekend. I think we'll probably stay at the hotel for most of the weekend to make the most of the facilities (given what we are paying!), but is there anything that you would recommend seeing in the area that we might not want to miss out on. Will have dd (almost 2) with us.

ooooh newkid - i'm off there in a couple of weeks - Please report back to me! Sorry, can't help in terms of whats to see round there. I imagine the hotel will be able to give you some pointers. But why on earth would you want to leave your room when they look so lush?! I am only planning to come out for food - I am planning to be harlot on second honeymoon!

Hi!
I live only 15 mins from Calcot Manor and it is fabulous (especially the Spa!)
You are only about 15 mins away from Westonbirt Arboreteum which is just lovely to walk around and well worth a visit...

the spa is so bloody expensive though - a massage at £95 - can it be that good?

A full body masage is only £55 (got their price list here!) and a half day programme which includes 2 course lunch is £95. Yes, very expensive and really only a special treat

aha - i'm going to Cowley not Calcott. My mistake.

Oooh !! Cowley is absolutely lovely too - haven't had any beauty treatments but know it a little!
