Hello,

we are planning to go to Australia in May with DD who will be 1 y/o at that time... am dreading that flight!!!

what airlines have you used that were accommodating for little ones?

also, do you think we should try and stop over in singapore to break the flight up a bit?

thanks

Kate

Singapore Airlines - lots of others will tell you the same... we used them when dd1 was 8 months old - from UK - Aus and back and then again when she was almost 2 - out to Aus. They were fab!!

First trip our time was limited to we flew straight there.... great - saw family for longer and again we flew straight back...

BUT second time we had 5 days in Singapore on the way over which was fab.

Only downside ( nothing to do with Singapore's service) that last leg Singapore to Heathrow can seem like forever - BUT it isn't.

I have always been pleased with BA actually. Both short and long distance flights. Also good experiences from Virgin, but not sure if they fly to Australia.

I don't find any particularly adult friendly, let alone child friendly.
Accept that any jurney with under 4s is hell on earth and then you will never be disappointed. You may even be pleasantly surprised.

We have just got back fron Oz with our 8 month old. We flew with Cathay Pacific and I couldn't fault them. They far exceeded all expectations and the flight was not a nightmare at all. We have flown long haul with most of the major airlines although this was our first time flying with baby and they were better than I could every have imagined. From check in right the way through they were superb.

Another vote here for Singapore, we flew just before last christmas with a 2 1/2 year old and a 7 month old, couldnt fault them and singapore is a very child friendly airport to stop in, we booked a room in the transit hotel as we had a 5 hour wait for our flight and that was a godsend, but a fair bit to do with kids in the airport. We really didnt know if it would be best to stop in Singapore but decided to not bother and spend longer in Australia, for no reason other than to have more time in Oz. But when we go again we may well stop in Singapore as they will be a bit older by then.
