De eemhoff Centreparks any tips?

Hi I've booked a 3night break to De eemhoff in April and will travel with my 3ds aged 9, 4 and 2. How can I get from Schipol to De eemhoff on public transport? If its v complicated I could hire a car which is about £75 before carseats. Is there enough to do onsite without leaving the park? I also wondered about the restaurants and shops. My budget is lean but I'd like the trip to be as smooth as possible. Also is it possible to do any daytrips without a car? I would like to see the tulips in bloom! I don't want to go to Amsterdam with the kids but would like to visit a town or village which isn't going to be a hassle to get to.
Anyone else been in April?

We went to eemhoff one August via schipol and got the train - the station is underneath the airport. At some point of the journey we had to change trains, but when we got off the the train we jumped straight into a taxi instead and it took us all the way there. We also arranged for him to pick us up the following week to take us back.

We didn't leave the park all week.

We found the restaurants quite pricey - especially if you are eating out 24/7. the deal we had was with 25 euros worth of supermarket vouchers. so we basically self catered and went to the shop most days to choose tea Smile

Our lodge (which was a VIP) had no oven only a microwave - so you are limited to what you can cook.

We went to De eemhoff last April but drove, so can't help out with trains etc. You can hire bicycles once there and we went for a cycle ride off site one day.

The restaurants are pricey, we treated ourselves on the last night.

Having been to a few centreparcs in Holland none of them have ovens - they all seem to have microwaves, but we did a couple of BBQ's .From memory I think you might be able to buy those disposable bbq's in the supermarket.

There is only plenty to do on the centerparcs site. The flowrider is good for your older child, but if you want them to do the lesson you need to get in early.

Last time we went there was a show in the evening, a sort of strange musical but based on disco and was good fun. There are shows for the little ones in the afternoon based around some characters called PePeTeVe my dcs adored when they were little. There is a climbing wall, , minigolf, archery. The kids club is usually excellent and it doesn't matter if children don't speak dutch.
You can walk down to the river where there is a nice cafe/restaurant.
The aqaumundo is open from 10am-10pm which will keep the dc occupied for hours and there are lovely walks around the parc itself.

The only problem we found was the wasps. We went in august and they were everywhere and I got stung.

Thanks everyone, I'm getting v excited now! Furball how much did the train/taxi cost? Do trains run regularly? Also i wondered about food shopping without a car as i'm sure site shop is expensive. Maybe I could get the taxi driver to stop at a big supermarket en route to site?
What is the weather like in April Garden Sarah? Are wellies a must?

From what I can remember, the weather was good, it will be very similar to the UK. You don't necessarily need wellies as there are footpaths, and there are roads you can walk on. Roads are closed to cars except on changeover days- . My dc's 10 & 8 really enjoyed the flowrider. We paid for them to have a lesson - well worth it unfortunately I can't remember how it cost but it gave them the confidence to use it.
