Nice hotel in York

We want to spend a weekend in York in May and wondered if anyone had any suggestions, price is not an issue. Theres just me and dp, no kids...

sorry, have not stayed in york for years; but one to AVOID like the plague is the Newington Hotel; a friend of mine stayed there and said it was awful!

We stayed in a lovely hotel near Cliffords Tower when we went to a wedding last year - the Quality Hotel, very modern if you like that sort of thing.
