South Africa in April?

DH needs a relaxing break as he's very stressed with work and we did consider Dubai for some sunshine (we were going skiing but with two children who are novice skiers it's not really very stress free plus DH craves the sun).
However, Dubai is coming our at silly money and someone has suggested perhaps South Africa instead. Im guessing there are other accessible places for sunshine that time of year but I'd like to keep away from huge time zone changes as, from experience, our DCs don't cope well with jet lag.

So, South Africa. Is it a potential sunny place for April? Anywhere we should look at/steer clear of? We'd like water activities, some sight seeing, adults chill out while kids play sort of thing...

TIA

Should be nice in April, not baking but warm -we were there for three weeks in April and it was lovely.

I'll post more tomorrow as have to go in a mo, but we did Cape Town/Winelands/Garden Route/Safari. No kids as it was honeymoon, but some nice beaches etc will look them up!

April is a fab time to go, being a fellow Saffa i can safely say that the weather is lovely and warm but not pipping hot but flights arent ridiculous as its not peak season. depends where you go as well. We are off to SA in april as well.Def do garden route, loads of animal sanctuary's on the garden route and hotels/ B&B's arent a killer either.
I would say stay away from beaches in CT as its very cold, (for us saffas that is - DH thinks its fine - he is irish though). Any other beaches along the GR are brilliant but be beware at the wilderness very choppy waters not safe. I wouldnt swim there.

Hope this helps.

Also Beer is around 80p per pint, might cheer hubby up abit.
