Reading in the Which travel magazine that APD is set to rise from 1st April 2012, an economy seat will rise from £13 to £92 depending on the length of the flight. Oh dear this is not good news could add an extra £400 on a trip to Australia for a family of 4!

Does this count if you buy your tickets before that date, do you know?

Looks like they will charge us even though we have booked well before 1st April. :(

I guess the rise in APD makes up for the fact that airlines don't pay vat on fuel and this gives going abroad holidays a bigger advantage than staying at home ones. Next it will be individual carbon footprinting and this will add even more on to flying abroad!
